Indoor track and field season began for the Greene County girls team at the Iowa State Girls High School Classic in Ames March 14.
Sophomore Megan Durbin was one in a five-way tie for first place in the high jump at 5′ 5″. Junior Nadia Fisher placed 23rd at 4′ 8″.
Senior Hannah Cooklin placed 71st in the long jump at 12′ 7-1/4″. Sophomore Laurin Lyons placed 30th in the shot put with a throw of 31′ 9-1/4″.
In running events, Fisher placed 30th in the 60 m. hurdles with a time of 10.44 seconds. Cooklin placed 88th in 12.17 seconds. Sophomore Chantel Flack placed 34th in the 800 m. with a time of 2:40.82. Sophomore Haley Hall placed 26th in the 3000 m. with a time of 12:45.35 minutes.
The sprint medley relay of Lyons, Fisher, Durbin and junior Olivia Hansen placed 28th with a time of 2:03.54. The same team ran the 4 X 100 relay with a time of :55.85 and placed 36th.
